The Maritime Match Day 2019 will be kicked-off with five cases, organized by different companies. One of the five cases will be specially for first year students.
Rolldock - It’s you behind the wheel: act safe, efficient and reliable (freshmen case)
How do you make the impossible possible? Be creative with our fleet on land and at sea! A very heavy large floating cargo needs to be transported from one continent to another. Our fleet of vessels, cranes, trailers, sea fastening equipment and much more will be at your full disposal. Which challenges do you foresee to accomplish this transport in a successful way? Do you load the vessel by means of lift-on, roll-on, float-in, float-over or skid on? It will be your task to make a feasible all-in-one transport plan in which safety, efficiency and reliability are your drivers.
IHC - Challenging the Sand Footprint
Climate change causes an increasing demand for maintenance work on the coasts, beaches and inland waterways. Royal IHC is looking for efficient sustainable solutions within her product portfolio to offer her clients with an economic and ecological solution. These challenges require a new generation of dredgers with technological innovations in the field of propulsion (LNG, H2, Battery Pack).
The case consists of a simulated tender in which the participants are challenged to find an optimal deployment of dredging material and technology. The participants will compete against each other in groups. The tenders will be assessed on their economic feasibility and ecological footprint.
