Feadship

The modern ship energy system is not just engines and a propeller anymore, it is about electric generators, batteries, fuel cells and carefully balancing those. In this case you will work through a realistic design challenge of the future power systems of a Feadship. Expect trade-offs, tough decisions and rethink what “power” really means at sea.

CoWaves

"Dear all,

Building a successful project rarely depends on technical expertise alone. Behind every high-performing project sits a strong foundation of structure, timing, and financial control. That is exactly what this challenge is about.

Welcome to Race 2 Space powered by CoWaves
In this interactive simulation, teams step into the role of Project Professionals responsible for delivering a complex space mission. The objective is clear: complete the project within the defined timeline and allocated budget, while making the right decisions under pressure.

Project context
•    A client has commissioned the design and construction of three different space vessels
•    The mission: retrieve material from Mars
•    All vessels must be built using the same limited pool of resources
•    Time and budget are critical success factors

Your role
•    Operate as a project team within the organization
•    Make strategic choices on planning, sequencing, and resource allocation
•    Balance cost, time, and scope throughout the project lifecycle

Available departments
•    Engineering → for technical input, activities, and drawings
•    Procurement → for parts, materials, and sourcing insights

The key to success lies in asking the right questions, gathering the right information, and making well-informed decisions as a team.

What to expect
•    A hands-on introduction to project management and project controls
•    Realistic trade-offs between cost and schedule
•    Collaboration, communication, and decision-making under constraints

Further instructions will be shared at the start of the session.

Looking forward to seeing how each team approaches the challenge.

Kind regards,

Team CoWaves"
